Following on from last week’s post where I spoke about how I am spending October focussing on skin and hair care I just had to share with you my secret weapon for the past couple of months. It’s the Genius Liquid Collagen by Algenist and it’s just launched in the UK Exclusively at Space NK.
Being the lucky lady I am, I was able to get my hands on a bottle* early following the press day back in July, and having chatted to the peeps from Algenist, who were over from the U.S I couldn’t wait to get home and get trying! They hailed it as ‘8 hours sleep in a bottle’ so being the sleep deprived person I am I literally could not wait to see if it was up to the hype.
It’s groundbreaking formula from science led Skincare brand Algenist, is vegan friendly, something I am growing more interested in as World Vegan Month approaches next month (More on that very soon) and uses plant based Collagen and Microalgae Oil beads. In fact there’s 13,000 of them in this bottle! These are sustainably sourced & produced and, having chatted with the team, I felt this is something they are really proud of, and rightly so.
Rich in Omega 3, 6, and 9, it promises to restore the skins health, bounce and hydration within just 10 days. So does it work?
In a word, HELL YES!
Applied to clean, dry skin on the face and décolletage, the texture is really light, and each pump reveals dozens of the tiny beads. These burst when applied to the skin and the result feels fresh, literally like a drink of water for your skin. I didn’t find it sticky to apply or once applied, instead I felt totally refreshed, to the point where after a few days use, my skin was feeling like it was craving it come bedtime, which is the best time to apply it FYI.
It sets to work overnight and again literally after a few days I was waking up looking revived despite being on my usual 5-6 hrs sleep. As regular readers will know my skin is particularly dry so this kind of turn around is nothing short of miraculous. I genuinely feel like I looked younger within a matter of days.
At £90 it’s certainly a Skincare investment but in my opinion it is worth every last penny. It will last a long time as a little goes a long way and while I did use it religiously during my testing phase I now dip in and out of it when my skin looks like it needs a really good boost, at least a couple of times a week.
It will definitely be a repurchase from me when this bottle runs out and it will be a skincare staple for years to come.
