L’OCCITANE launch London Flagship store

L’OCCITANE have launched a UK Flagship store in Regent street and my goodness is it something for them to feel proud of! Set over two floors, it’s 6,45sq.ft make it the largest L’OCCITANE store in the world but it’s far more then a shop, it’s a social space of which you will want to spend as much time in as possible. Architecturally it is a dream, the grade II listed building designed by John Nash, one of the most important architects between 1800-1830 and who’s services were enlisted by King George IV, aka The Prince Regent.

The inspiration for the store came from a desire to create something in opposition to the digital and physical noise of our day to day lives, such as the busy street outside, stepping inside is a chance to escape the hustle and bustle and take time instead to emerse all 5 senses.

Soft launched in January and then again in far more hardcore style to the press a few weeks later, I got to spend the evening exploring the store while our hosts treated us to hand massages, macarons and enough Perrier- Jouêt Champagne to sink the titanic while IT girl Amber Le Bon spun the tunes on the decks.

The store is a thing of beauty, first things first, as you walk in on the ground floor you can’t help but have your eyes drawn to the macaron & hand massage bars, the former a collaboration between the world renowned pastry chef Pierre Hermé and L’OCCITANE who has created three exclusive flavours for the Flagship store.

Customers are invited to enjoy a complimentary 15 minute hand and arm massage using the brands luxurious hand creams and as if that wasn’t enough will also be able to chose a macaron whilst they do so.

The ground floor also offers a gifting suite where products from the store can be personalised as well as beautifully gift wrapped.

Upstairs the pampering continues with the Beauty Concierge lounge, where again customers can enjoy a 15 minute express facial, with compliments of the house or else book on for a 30 minute luxury skincare ritual offered free when spending over £100.

There’s also a cafe, with windows facing Regent street making it perfect for people watching and just to ensure all your friends are green with envy, a selfie studio where you can print personalised cards to take home as well as share on social media.

The store is open 7 days a week and you can enjoy treatments any time of the day. I’ll certainly be spending lots more time in here!
