Beauty Review | Perricone MD Chloro Plasma Mask

My skin has definitely been in need of some pampering recently so imagine my delight when the lovely people at Perricone MD sent me a pot of their Chloro Plasma Mask to try, what a lucky lady I am! I need all the help I can get right now, from bitter weather to sun to rain, it’s been playing havoc with my poor face so to say I was pleased to open the package would be a massive understatement.

For those who haven’t heard of Perricone MD before, it is a US brand headed up by  Dermatologist Dr. Nicholas Perricone, a world renowned healthy aging expert, award winning inventor, educator and philanthropist. Passionate about anti-aging skincare, the brand was established in 1997 with science and innovation at the heart of the its products which are stocked around the world in places such as Space NK, Selfridges, Harrods and websites such as Look Fantastic. Sounds impressive. And it is.

What it looks like in pot…

It works to detox and purify the skin using phytonutrient enhanced Microcapsules. Phytonutriants are chemicals found in plants that help to protect them against environmental damage such as insect attacks and the Sun’s harmful UV rays. In fact you might already be consuming these as they can be found in foods such as strawberries, tomoatoes and cocoa powder which can help also fight fatigue.

Chlora Plasma has fast become one of my top ‘go to’ products when my skin is in desperate need of tlc. The thick cream mask is pale green with little ‘nobbly’ bits aka Microcapsules, and feels lovely and cooling going onto your face.

Applied to clean skin with a generous layer, these actually ‘burst’ when massaged in, turning the colour of the mask into a mossy green shade. Yes you look a bit like a frog (keep the bathroom door locked) but it’s totally worth it. It only needs to be left on 5-10 minutes to do its job, making it perfect for the time poor or those who need a last minute skin pick-me-up. It dries into a clay like finish, tightening while doing so and then you just wash it off with warm water. Personally I like to use a soft flannel or muslin cloth for an extra little exfoliation. My skin always feels baby soft afterwards and looks instantly brighter. It costs £54 (FeelUnique) and in my own opinion totally worth the investment, I’ve used mine about 6 times and am only half way through the pot so cost per usage it’s very reasonable, especially given the dramatic results! I will 100% be purchasing this once this pot runs out.
