Jurlique Nutri-Define Eye Contour Balm

A couple of weeks back I spoke about the fabulous Foreo Iris Eye massager and mentioned I had been using it to supercharge a certain eye cream which was having great results. If you’ve been wanting to know what that was , then good news, the wait is over!

That little pot of goodness comes from Jurlique in the form of their Nutri-Define Eye Contour Cream (£52)

It comes in a small but mighty pot, always a good sign as the smaller the more powerful I’ve found in my experience. And a little goes a long way, such is its rich formulation which contains a patent-pending Biosome5 technology which works to combat fine lines and crows feet around the eye area.

This Biosome5 technology contains 5 key botanical ingredients which include Horseradish to improve skin firmness and elasticity, Rosemary which enlivens the skin to help it look and feel rejuvenated. Peppermint to revitalises dull skin while improving uneven skin texture, Mulberry root which is high in antioxidants and phenolic compounds so it helps protect, brighten skin tone, and reduce the appearance of skin discolouration, and finally Glycogen, derived from pearlescent sea shells, it helps reinforce the skin’s natural defences and provides skin-firming benefits.

You might already know Jurlique from their iconic facial mists, but if you don’t know then let me enlighten you a little as the brand have an amazing story.

Firstly Jurlique is actually from Australia, not France as is often mistaken from the name which was derived from combining the names of the founders Dr Jürgen Klein, a biochemist and his wife Ulrike. Pioneers of their time they believed that beauty products should I’ll come from nature, this being the 1980s most brands were lab led and consumers were being blinded by science. They wanted to combine alchemy, herbal medicine and homeopathy to create a natural skincare range that was kind to both the user as well as the environment.

It’s a brand with strong ethics and they even have their own farm in South Australia where they grow their ingredients for the products.

Back to the balm itself, which is a deliciously pale peachy colour and feels thick and luxurious on application. You only need a very small amount as a little goes a very long way!

Perhaps the biggest magic however comes from the applicator which I am crazy for! The rounded metal tipped head helps to cool the eyes to relieve tired and puffy eyes and feels really amazing especially if you struggle to get going on the mornings. You use it to massage the cream into the eye contour area and hey presto, you are done. No having to pat it in or worrying about stretching the skin, just a cooling massage.

I also really like that Jurlique have different levels to their skincare based on age and skin concern so you can be sure that you are us by the right product for you and not a generic aged range products.
